Information about Rats

Information:

- They are nocturnal animals
- 4-6 litters a year, each consisting of 6-12 babies
- Their bodies will be between 6-10 inches long
- Usually nests in attics
- They will eat just about anything, like to eat out of dumpsters and garbage cans

Nuisance Concern:
- They enter into the attics any way that they can
- Urine and feces compiled in attics and around the house can pose serious health risks
- Extreme damage can be done by their gnawing on furniture, wiring and appliances

- Rat control involves trapping, sealing, baiting and sanitation

Seasonal Pests Tips

If you have a squirrel, raccoon or any other animal living in your attic APCS recommends trapping and removing the animals. Once there is not any more activity APCS recommends sealing off any other possible entry points. The technician will be able to advise you of any preventative repairs.

If you have mice. APCS recommends treating until the activity has decreased to a minimal amount. Once activity is minimal APCS recommends sealing off any possible entry points. The technician will be able to advise you of any preventive seal-up.
